Misc.
What is letterpress?
It is a term for the relief printing of text and image using a press with a”type-high bed” printing press and movable type, in which a reversed, raised surface is inked and then pressed into a sheet of paper to obtain a positive right-reading image.
All of our letterpress items are fed into the press one at a time; type is hand set using metal or wood letters, or we order custom metal dies. Every color in your design is printed individually on the press, one card may be inserted three or four times. With this type of process there may be slight variation from print to print.
What is silk screen printing?
Screen printing is a technique that uses a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil. The attached stencil forms open areas of mesh that transfer the ink onto each substrate individually. Each color requires its own screen. I print using a print gocco screen printing set-up with a print area of 3.5 x 5.5
What is the difference between custom design and personalized?
Custom designs are created by working directly with you the client to create a one of a kind item that is not available anywhere else. Personalized items are products that are available in our shop, but have been tailored to meet your needs by changing the color or font.
